2nd Grade "Suessical" with Two Very Special Guests!

The second graders gave the school along with friends and family a hand-raising good time presenting "Suessical" in honor of Dr. Suess and Read-Across-America.
Thanks to Mrs. Edwards once again for all her hard work and also to Mrs. Scott for the cutest Thing T-shirts!

Mr. Dale also had a wonderful surprise for the entire school as two famous local favorites read Dr. Suess books in celebration of Read-Across-America!

Special Visitors in 4th Grade

Three employees of the Sullivan County Sheriff's Department came on Tuesday, March 2 to celebrate READ ACROSS AMERICA with ISES 4th graders.

We enjoyed Ms. Wiggles the clown, who played a game with us about bullying.

Sheriff Wayne Anderson read us a Dr. Seuss story. He also took part in a question and answer session. We learned a lot about being Sheriff of Sullivan County.

Ms. Crabtree took pictures of our fun morning! We thoroughly enjoyed the day!

Thank You to Premier Sports Productions!

We would like to thank Travis Leming and his sports management company - Premier Sports Productions - for generously donating four folding tables to the PTA. This project was mentioned as a potential special project at the January PTA meeting, and Travis took the initiative to go ahead and sponsor the project. Travis even ran to Lowe's the night before the Teacher/Staff luncheon so we would have the tables in time for that event! When not needed for events, the new tables will reside in the computer lab on the 4th/5th grade hall for use by the students and teachers. Thanks again Travis!!!

Teacher Luncheon Memories...

Thankfully the weather let up long enough for us to hold our annual Teacher/Staff Appreciation Luncheon on Friday, February 12th. Thank you to every person who sent in a donation, donated a door prize or dessert, sat with the classes, helped with setup, serving, and cleanup, and all the other jobs it takes to put on our fabulous luncheon! And of course many thanks to our organizing committee: Kim Barker, Marilyn Cotter, Keesha Phillips, and Lisa Dugger. See below for pictures of the event!

Close-ups of our beautiful table decor...

Putting the finishing touches on everything...

What a great spread! Braeden's Barbecue catered the main meal, and parents brought in scrumptious desserts. Madagascar provided some really delicious coffee!

The teachers and staff enjoyed a well-deserved time of relaxation and fellowship with each other...

Everyone was invited to "cast your heart" for door prizes...

Two of our lucky winners!!

(Mrs. Olinger)

(Ms. Sparks)

Thanks again to all who made this wonderful day possible for our teachers!

Food Drive Success!

Thank you to all who sent in food items to support the Second Harvest Food Bank. Thanks to the 4th grade for organizing and leading this effort at ISE!

1602 food items were donated by our families! This will really help Second Harvest, particularly with their "kid packs" that are sent home with children who need extra food on the weekends and over school breaks.

See pics below of the food items being loaded by the 4th graders into the van for transport to Second Harvest.

Great job ISE!
