A Winning Essay!

A "Character Counts" contest was recently held in Sullivan County for 4th grade students. Each student was given the opportunity to write a short essay. After careful judging by the FCE (National Association for Family & Community Education), our very own Reagan Lancaster received first place in county competition! She went on to Immanuel Lutheran Church on March 18 to read her essay and receive her ribbon and certificate. We congratulate Reagan! Not only is her "writing of character" commendable, but her own personal character is of the highest degree as well. Great job, Reagan!

Special Visitors in 4th Grade

Three employees of the Sullivan County Sheriff's Department came on Tuesday, March 2 to celebrate READ ACROSS AMERICA with ISES 4th graders.

We enjoyed Ms. Wiggles the clown, who played a game with us about bullying.

Sheriff Wayne Anderson read us a Dr. Seuss story. He also took part in a question and answer session. We learned a lot about being Sheriff of Sullivan County.

Ms. Crabtree took pictures of our fun morning! We thoroughly enjoyed the day!

Thank You to Premier Sports Productions!

We would like to thank Travis Leming and his sports management company - Premier Sports Productions - for generously donating four folding tables to the PTA. This project was mentioned as a potential special project at the January PTA meeting, and Travis took the initiative to go ahead and sponsor the project. Travis even ran to Lowe's the night before the Teacher/Staff luncheon so we would have the tables in time for that event! When not needed for events, the new tables will reside in the computer lab on the 4th/5th grade hall for use by the students and teachers. Thanks again Travis!!!
