PTA Meeting - November 12th

I just wanted to let you know that we will have our next PTA meeting during the Book Fair on Monday, November 12 ^th from 6:30 to 7:30 pm in the computer lab. At this meeting, we will vote on special projects. If you have a project that you would like to be considered, please send an email to Cyrena rayandcyrena@embarqmail.com by Sunday, November 11^th detailing the project, its cost, and a timeline for completion. All special projects must benefit the entire school, be a one-time expenditure, and have an overseer who will see the project through to completion. Past projects have included our entrance buzzer system, benches, our wonderful school sign, basketball goal backboards, and the landscaping in front of the school and at the pod entrance, just to name a few.

 

We all work hard and give our time and resources to raise money and this is one way to see that things that need doing get done.  If you have a good idea for something that needs to be done, please send it in!

 

I will send out summaries of all projects submitted for consideration Monday morning so that we will be ready to vote at the meeting.

 

Also, if you have any information that you would like to cover at the PTA meeting, please send me your information for slide presentation by Sunday, November 11th.

Important Grandparents Day Information

ISE nutritional staff and PTA cordially invite grandparents or other special adults to have lunch with the students on Wednesday, September 26, 2012. We will be serving: Burger w/lettuce, tomato, pickles, baked beans, chicken salad w. croissant, chips, and apple wedges. The cost is $3.75 for an adult and $2.25 for a child (non student).

We need your help! We have several students who are dangerously allergic to certain substances. To make this day special for all, we ask that you refrain from bringing outside food. Some children are so highly sensitive that we have had reactions just from the opening of food containers. Also, we have some students who suffer from asthma and migraines which are affected by body lotions and perfumes. Please save that fabulous scent for another day. Thank you in advance for making this a wonderful day. The students are so proud when you visit!

Lunch times will be altered to accommodate the added meals. Every effort will be made to stay on schedule, but changes may occur due to the number of visitors. Please be patient with us as we try to make this a special day for everyone. The lunch schedule is as follows:

Kindergarten 10:35-11:15

First Grade 11:20-12:00

Second Grade 12:05-12:45 

Third Grade 12:15-12:55 

Fourth Grade 12:50-1:30

Fifth Grade 1:00-1:40

***Please note that guests will meet their child in the hallway prior to the scheduled lunch time. You will be notified when it is time to go inside. Lunch tickets will be purchased in front of the school. There will be available seating while you are waiting, and the Indian Springs Elementary Chorus will be performing.

What a great start to the 2012/2013 school year! 

Thanks to all the volunteers who made this happen and a special thanks to Brayden who worked hard all summer to earn money to purchase a new American flag for ISE!! 

 

ISE has the best teachers EVER who absolutely love our children!!

Want to volunteer??? The PTA would love to have you!!!  So much goes on behind the scenes that gives our children an opportunity they would not have elsewhere because of teachers and ISE staff and volunteers who want ISE kids to be the best they can be!
