A Winning Essay!

A "Character Counts" contest was recently held in Sullivan County for 4th grade students. Each student was given the opportunity to write a short essay. After careful judging by the FCE (National Association for Family & Community Education), our very own Reagan Lancaster received first place in county competition! She went on to Immanuel Lutheran Church on March 18 to read her essay and receive her ribbon and certificate. We congratulate Reagan! Not only is her "writing of character" commendable, but her own personal character is of the highest degree as well. Great job, Reagan!

Submitted by the 4th grade teachers: Mrs. Mains, Mrs. Robinette, and Mrs. Calhoun.

Special Visitors in 4th Grade

Three employees of the Sullivan County Sheriff's Department came on Tuesday, March 2 to celebrate READ ACROSS AMERICA with ISES 4th graders.

We enjoyed Ms. Wiggles the clown, who played a game with us about bullying.

Sheriff Wayne Anderson read us a Dr. Seuss story. He also took part in a question and answer session. We learned a lot about being Sheriff of Sullivan County.

Ms. Crabtree took pictures of our fun morning! We thoroughly enjoyed the day!
